¨     World number one Carlos Alcaraz defeated Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 to win the Japan Open final in Tokyo.

¨     The victory gave him his eighth title of the year and his first in Tokyo.

¨     With this win, Alcaraz avenged his earlier loss to Fritz at the Laver Cup in San Francisco.

¨     The triumph added to his tally of 67 match wins this season and 24 career tour-level titles.

¨     Alcaraz described the 2025 season as the best of his career, having defended the French Open and reached the Wimbledon final.

¨     The 2025 Japan Open Tennis Championships was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts.

¨     With its 51st edition, the tournament was part of the ATP 500 series of the 2025 ATP Tour.
