NESTS has launched the ‘Amazon Future Engineer Program’ for Eklavya Model Residential Schools. The third phase of the Amazon Future Engineer Program is an important initiative for tribal students, which is being launched in collaboration with the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS). The program will be implemented in 410 proposed Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), aimed at introducing tribal students across the country to cutting-edge technical subjects such as computer science, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and coding.
Key points of Amazon Future Engineer Program
- Program running for two years: The Amazon Future Engineer program has been running successfully for the last two years, in which more than 7,000 students from classes 6 to 8 have been trained in computer science and block programming.
- Teacher training: More than 50 teachers have been trained so far, so that they can guide the students better.
Phase III
- Expansion of curriculum for students from class 6 to 9: Students will now be taught the latest tech skills such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and coding.
- Project-based virtual sessions for class 10 students: These sessions will be in sync with the CBSE AI skills curriculum, giving students practical experience.
Role of NESTS
- The main objective of NESTS is to promote technological literacy and modernize education among tribal students.
- The program will prepare students for careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, allowing them to contribute to India’s technological advancement.
