Every year on 26 September, World Environmental Health Day is celebrated.
It is celebrated to raise awareness about the impact of environmental health on human lives.
The theme of World Environmental Health Day 2024 is “Environmental Health: Creating Resilient Communities through Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.”
International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) founded World Environmental Health Day in 2011.
The day was founded to focus on the importance of caring for the health of our environment.
As per the World Health Organisation (WHO), healthier environments can be one of the key factors in preventing almost one-quarter of the global burden of diseases.
As per WHO, Global environmental issues account for more than 12.6 million deaths each year.
