- Om Prakash Mathur took oath as the 18th Governor of Sikkim on 31 July at the Raj Bhavan in Gangtok.
- Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court Justice Biswanath Somadder administered the oath of office and secrecy to him.
- Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, cabinet ministers and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
- The Governor was given a ceremonial guard of honour by the Sikkim Armed Police.
