India hosted the first BIMSTEC Business Summit in New Delhi from August 6-8.
The summit is a significant step towards promoting greater regional cooperation in the Bay of Bengal region.
The Ministry of External Affairs organized the three-day event in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar inaugurated the summit.
The event is being attended by a wide range of participants, including ministers from BIMSTEC member countries responsible for trade, commerce, industry and energy, high-ranking government officials, policy makers, entrepreneurs and industry associations.
The first edition of the Business Summit aimed to promote greater regional cooperation through stronger trade and investment ties among BIMSTEC member countries.
