- Former Odisha Governor Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare passed away at the age of 95.
- Bhandare was a senior Congress leader from Maharashtra and had been a Rajya Sabha member thrice.
- He served as the Governor of Odisha from August 2007 to March 2013 and also practised as a senior advocate in the Supreme Court.
- He was the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association for two terms.
- In March 2024, his autobiography, titled “The Arc of Memory: My Life and Times” was published.
