Jal Shakti Ministry and 12 technical education institutions have signed an agreement.
The agreement is for research and academic collaboration towards basin management of six rivers.
These six rivers are Narmada, Godavari, Mahanadi, Krishna, Cauvery and Periyar.
The agreement was signed under the National River Conservation Plan.
On the occasion, Jal Shakti Minister said Namami Gange Mission has been included by UNESCO among the world’s ten best conservation and revitalization campaigns.
The Minister said PM Modi linked river conservation to livelihood and gave the principle of Arth Ganga.
