- Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council appointed Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak as the new prime minister.
- He has taken the place of Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed, who will assume the role of an advisor to the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council.
- Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak was also designated as Yemen’s representative to the United Nations in 2018. He also served as foreign minister of Yemen from 2020.
- Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak came into the news in 2015 when he was kidnapped by the Houthis while he was serving as Yemen’s presidential chief of staff.
