- India’s net direct tax collections rose 21.8% to 9.57 Lakh Crore.
- The net collections have reached 52.5 per cent of the full-year budget estimates (BE) of Rs. 18.23 lakh crore.
- India’s net direct tax collections grew 21.8% to ₹9.57 lakh crore till October 9.
- The personal income tax revenue has increased by 32.5% and corporate taxes have risen by 12.4%.
- Refunds amounting to Rs. 1.50 lakh crore have been issued from 1 April 2023 to October 9, 2023.
- In the period from April 1 to October 9, India’s gross direct tax collection increased by 17.95 per cent on the year to Rs 11.07 lakh crore.
- The gross revenues in 2022-23 were 22 per cent higher on a yearly basis.
- In the last few years, various efforts have been made to increase the tax base and improve compliance.
