In the year 2024, the 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati will be celebrated. The Government of India has constituted a 97-member committee under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to organize the commemoration on this occasion.
In this, apart from many central ministers and governors and chief ministers of all states, representatives of Arya Sabha from different states of the country and abroad have also been made members.
Along with Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, MLA and head of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha Bihar Sanjeev Chaurasia has also been nominated from Bihar in the committee.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs Minister Smriti Zubin Irani, Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region G. Kishan Reddy, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge along with all governors and chief ministers have been made ex-officio members.
