The Karnataka government launched the Griha Jyothi free electricity scheme, which aims to provide up to 200 units of free electricity to each household in the state.
About 2.14 crore families will get benefits from Griha Jyoti Yojana. Around 1.41 crore people have already registered for this scheme.
Applications have also been invited for Griha Laxmi Yojana under which all women heads of BPL families will be given an allowance of Rs 2,000.
