On 21 August, a two-day international meeting, Health Research and Innovations in Public Health: Exchange of Good Practices across the RESEARCH Platform has been organised in New Delhi.
The event has been jointly hosted by the Department of Health Research and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
It was held under the Regional Enabler for South and Southeast Asia Research for Health (RESEARCH) Platform.
Delegates from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Timor-Leste participated in the conference.
Various aspects of health research systems, including governance structures, research funding, mechanisms for prioritizing research agendas, and approaches to ensuring transparency and ethics, were key topics of discussion.
The meeting reinforced collaboration among regional partners to generate knowledge relevant to local health realities.
This first-of-its-kind conference is a significant milestone in promoting regional collaboration and knowledge-sharing in health research.
