Japan won the 20th Asian Women’s Handball Championship by beating South Korea 25-24 on 10 December 2024.
The Indian handball team finished sixth at the 2024 Asian Women’s Handball Championship, the country’s best ever finish.
Japan won its second title, breaking South Korea’s streak of winning seven consecutive championships.
Earlier, Kazakhstan won its second bronze medal of the tournament by beating Iran 28-22 in the third place play-off match.
The 20th edition of the Asian Women’s Handball Championship was held in New Delhi, India from December 3 to December 10, 2024.
The tournament was held for the first time in India at the Indira Gandhi Arena, organized by the Asian Handball Federation and the World Handball League.
