- Kaanu aims to become the first-ever knowledge hub about the history, culture, and customs of South Indian Adivasis.
- The creators of this initiative include a group of academics and leaders from several Adivasi communities in South India, as well as non-Adivasi researchers.

- A library featuring literature by and on the Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka indigenous communities
- Kaanu annotated bibliography with more than 1,200 historical and modern works about the South Indian Adivasi world
- A book coauthored by researchers who are Adivasis and non-Adivasis from South India
