The World Health Organization has launched an online platform called MeDevIS (Medical Devices Information System), the first global open access clearinghouse for information on medical devices.
It is designed to assist governments, regulatory bodies and users in making decisions on the selection, purchase and use of medical devices to diagnose, test and treat diseases and health conditions.
The MeDevIS platform covers 2301 types of medical devices that are used for a wide range of health issues, including reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health, non-communicable diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes as well as infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
