First woman helicopter pilot was appointed in the Indian Navy.
Sub Lieutenant Anamika B. Rajeev became the first woman helicopter pilot of the Indian Navy during the Passing Out Parade held at Naval Air Station INS Rajali in Arakkonam of Ranipet district.
The prestigious “Golden Wings” were given to 21 officers by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command.
On 7 June, a Passing Out Parade was organized to mark the graduation of the 102nd Helicopter Conversion Course.
The trainees underwent an intensive 22-week training programme comprising rigorous flying and ground training at Indian Naval Air Squadron 561.
849 pilots from the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, and friendly foreign countries have received training from the Helicopter Training School in Arakkonam.
