ICC appointed Shahid Afridi as its ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Shahid Afridi, a former captain of Pakistan, was announced as the latest ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will begin on June 1 in the United States and the West Indies.
Afridi has been selected by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to be one of the ambassadors for the T20 World Cup, with sprint sensation Usain Bolt, Chris Gayle, and India legend Yuvraj Singh.
In the first-ever 2007 T20 World Cup, which took place in South Africa, Afridi was named Player of the Tournament but Pakistan lost to India in the final.
In 2009, Afridi led Pakistan to the title with match-winning performances in the semi-finals and final.
