- Scientist researchers named a new species of deep-sea isopod after the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
- This new species has been named Brucethoa ISRO. The name has been given in honour of ISRO’s successful space missions.
- The tiny fish-parasitic crustacean has been discovered from the base of the gill cavity of the Spinyjaw greeneye. It belongs to the genus Brucethoa.
- This new species was identified by P. T. Aneesh, who is an Assistant Professor at the Seto Inland Sea Carbon Neutral Research Centre.
- Spinyjaw greeneye is a fish species, which is found at the depth of 250-450 metres off the Kerala coast.
- Brucethoa isro is the second species within this genus to be documented in India.
