Indian Railways will install around 20 thousand GPS-based navigation fog pass devices.
These devices will be installed to ensure smooth rail operations during foggy weather.
The fog pass is a GPS-based navigation device. It helps the loco pilot to navigate during dense fog conditions.
It provides real-time information to local pilots about the location of fixed landmarks like Signals, Level Crossing gates and Permanent Speed Restrictions.
It is portable, compact in size and light in weight. So, the loco pilot can carry it easily with him.
