Iranian human rights activist Nergis Mohammad Di has been honored with the Nobel Peace Prize this year.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has given her this award for her efforts in the fight against oppression of women in Iran and for human rights and freedom.
Naregis Mohammadi is also a human rights activist.
Nargis Mohammadi is currently in jail in Iran. Nargis Mohammadi is currently in jail in Iran. Authorities arrested Mohammadi in November after attending a memorial for a victim of violent protests in Iran in 2019.
Mohammadi has been imprisoned 13 times and convicted five times. Nargis has been sentenced to a total of 31 years in jail.
She is the 19th woman and second Iranian woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, after human rights activist Shirin Ebadi won the award in 2003.
