- Sahitya Akademi, India’s premier literary institution, has once again recognized and celebrated outstanding literary contributions with the prestigious ‘Bal Sahitya Puraskar‘ for the year 2023.
- This time, the honor has been conferred upon Dilip Nongmaithem, an accomplished author in the Manipuri language, for his remarkable work titled “Ibemma Amasung Ngabemma.”
- This award is a testament to his profound storytelling and significant impact on children’s literature.
Bal Sahitya Puraskar Award
- Dilip Nongmathem will be given the Children’s Literature Award 2023 in Manipuri language for his book Ibemma Amasung Nagabemma (a collection of stories).
- This book has been selected by a three-member jury following the prescribed selection process as per the rules.
- The jury included Dr. Hamom Nabachandra Singh, Dr. Khundongbam Gokulchandra Singh, Prof. Norem Bidyasagar Singh was included.
Youth Literature Award
- The Sahitya Akademi Youth Award for Manipuri language for the year 2023 will be given to poet Parashuram Thinganam’s work Matamgi Sheireng 37 (a collection of poems).
- Prof. was among the members of the three-member jury formed for this. Aruna Nahakapam, Prof. KH. Kunjo Singh, Sharachand Thiyam were included.
