Major Dr. Payal Chhabra, a surgeon doctor in the Indian Army, became the first woman surgeon to join the Para Special Forces.
Major Payal Chhabra, a resident of the Jind district in Haryana, was awarded the Maroon Beret at a ceremony held at the Paratroopers Training School in Agra.
She is the only Female Surgeon to achieve this feat in India.
She holds an MBBS degree and an MS surgery degree. After completing her education, she became a senior resident doctor at the surgery department of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College in Karnal, Haryana, in 2020.
Her first posting was at the Army Hospital in Ambala Cantonment.
